When we found out that we would have the opportunity to write scriptures on the wooden frame of our home as it was being built I was thrilled! I knew I wanted to use the foundational verse I felt He gave me when we started the building process - which I wrote a post about here, but I also wanted to write meaningful scriptures applicable to each room.
I love knowing that God’s words are written inside the walls and we’ve dedicated the rooms to Him. I wanted to share some of the scriptures we used in case you are looking to do the same!
Even if you’re not building, these scriptures are great for writing on a chalkboard in the kitchen, printing and hanging by your desk, or using to create a piece of artwork with your kids. I plan on turning a few of these into artwork to hang on the walls as well, so we are constantly surrounded by His truth!
ENTRYWAY
“But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

LIVING ROOM/HEART OF THE HOME
“Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted.” Psalm 127:1
“Through wisdom, a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” Proverbs 24:3-4
“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates…” Deuteronomy 11:18-20
MASTER
“Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always ‘me first,’
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (The Message)
“We love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” Ephesians 4:2-3
CLOSETS/VANITY AREAS
“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.” Proverbs 21:25-26
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12
“But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.” Colossians 3:14
“It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you – the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. This beauty will never disappear and is worth much more to God.” 1 Peter 3:3-4
CHILDREN’S ROOMS
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
“You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly.” Proverbs 3:24
“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians 6:13-18
OFFICE
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as if working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will direct your path.” Proverbs 3:6
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’ ” Mark 10:27
